Oh My Oh Beautiful

I missed Knitting Circle last week. I can’t remember where I had to go that could possibly have been more desireable than Knitting Circle, but it must have been something I couldn’t get out of. So I missed not only the lively conversation and sociable knitting time, but also I missed Lisa’s shawl. Thus I asked her please to bring it one more time to KC.

There are no words to describe. I will tell you that Lisa said the yarn called to her. She whipped through this magnificent and complex piece as fast as I’ve ever seen anything done. I know for a fact that’s largely because Lisa is a phenomenal knitter, and in small part too because she was in love with the project.

Now, Lisa, please please wear your beautiful shawl very often. It is a treasure.

Aren't They Pretty?

New needles from Knitters’ Pride are sweeping the knitting world.  They are made of wood that comes from Vermont, and then the needles are manufactured in India.  The company that makes them was formerly a paint brush manufacturer.  It’s a pretty cool story.  I’m still on the fence about the practicality of color coding for size, but in any case they are pretty.

Every day we wait for the minute our UPS driver, Chip, arrives with new cartons.  Whoever gets to the delivery first tears into the box to see.  It helps that none of us can remember what we ordered.  Every time we open a box it’s a great big surprise.  What fun!
